DESIGN STORY: Daniella’s Morganite Tennis Necklace
Daniella approached Mare De Vetro with a vision: a tennis necklace that was timeless, versatile, and aligned with her minimal yet classic style. After considering citrines and sapphires, she chose the soft blush tones of 31cts of Mozambique morganite, set in a claw design to maximise light and brilliance.
The necklace was crafted in 14ct gold fill with a base of upcycled stainless steel refined to surgical grade, blending luxury with durability. Using 3D printing for the settings reduced metal usage, making the design both sustainable and accessible.
Delivered just in time for a wedding, Daniella wore her necklace with ease — understated, elegant, and destined to become a modern heirloom.
DESIGN STORY: Laura’s South Sea Pearl Necklace
During a journey to China with her sister and mother, Laura discovered a breathtaking South Sea pink baroque pearl. Captivated by its natural beauty, she returned to Mare De Vetro with a vision: to transform this rare find into a statement layered necklace, while also creating versatile everyday pieces.
Working closely with Laura, we explored chain samples and added delicate pink freshwater pearls sourced from the Philippines. The design incorporated removable chain links at varying lengths, allowing the necklace to shift seamlessly from a bold statement piece to a more understated style.
Crafted with 14ct gold Singapore link chain and a base of upcycled stainless steel refined to surgical grade, the final design blended elegance, durability, and sustainability. Throughout the process, Laura was involved at every step, ensuring the finished piece was truly hers.
